Clubs, balls, nets, mats, tees, and training accessories are sporting equipment—not toys. A responsible adult must select the practice area, control access, supervise every session, and stop any unsafe use immediately.
Non-negotiable safety rules
- One golfer swings at a time. Everyone else must remain well outside the golfer’s full swing and ball-flight zones.
- Never swing a club toward any person or animal, even without a ball. Never throw clubs or balls.
- Keep children, spectators, pets, vehicles, windows, televisions, lighting, and other breakable property away from the hitting area and beyond the net.
- Never stand beside, directly behind, lean on, climb, or hang from a practice net.
- Use only the included yellow soft practice balls indoors. Use real golf balls only outdoors at an appropriate golf facility or with a setup independently confirmed as suitable for the specific ball speed, club, space, and surroundings.
- Stop immediately if a person or animal enters the swing or ball-flight zone, the net shifts, or any equipment appears loose, cracked, bent, torn, frayed, worn, or damaged.
Adult supervision
A responsible adult must remain present and attentive throughout setup, practice, use, and takedown. The adult must determine whether the player has the maturity, coordination, strength, and ability to use the equipment safely and must provide additional hands-on help when needed.
Do not permit unsupervised access to clubs, balls, tees, divot tools, anchors, cords, fasteners, or other kit components. Small components may present choking or puncture hazards and must be stored away from young children.
Choose and control the practice area
- Use a flat, dry, stable, well-lit surface with adequate overhead, side, rear, and forward clearance for the golfer’s full swing.
- Create a clearly marked swing zone and a separate waiting zone. Keep all people and animals out of the swing zone.
- Allow substantial clear space behind and around the net in case a ball misses, rebounds, penetrates, or escapes the net.
- Do not use near streets, sidewalks, doors, pools, stairs, fragile surfaces, moving vehicles, or other uncontrolled hazards.
- Do not use outdoors during high wind, lightning, rain, or other unsafe weather. Secure or take down equipment when not in use.
Net and mat setup
Fully assemble and secure the net exactly as directed in the instructions supplied with the product. Use all required poles, anchors, supports, target panels, and fasteners. Confirm that the net is upright, stable, undamaged, and positioned on an appropriate surface before every session.
A practice net reduces risk but cannot eliminate it. Nets can move, wear, tear, allow rebounds, or fail to contain a mis-hit ball. Never rely on a net as the only protection for people or valuable property. Place the hitting mat so the player’s complete stance and the ball are supported, and keep the mat dry, flat, and free of trip hazards.
Clubs, balls, and other equipment
Use the correct club length and handedness for the player. Before each session, inspect the club head, shaft, grip, bag, glove, balls, net, mat, and accessories. Do not use equipment that is damaged, excessively worn, incorrectly assembled, modified, or the subject of a recall or stop-use notice.
Never alter, heat, cut, drill, bend, repair, or add weight to a club or safety component unless TROSS has provided written instructions. Wear closed-toe, non-slip footwear and suitable clothing. Remove loose jewelry, drawstrings, or clothing that could interfere with the swing.
Stop-use, injury, and damage
Stop using the equipment immediately after any unusual impact, breakage, near miss, injury, property damage, or suspected defect. Preserve the product and packaging, take photographs, record what happened, and do not attempt a repair before receiving guidance.
Seek appropriate emergency or medical help for any injury. Report product safety concerns to TROSS using the contact information on your order confirmation or through trossgolf.com. These instructions supplement—and do not replace—the warnings, manuals, labels, recalls, facility rules, or applicable laws for a specific product or location.
